A sense of place

What do communities who have lived 5,000 years apart share in common? Sligo is one of the richest areas in Europe for megalithic sites, some of which pre-date the Egyptian pyramids. Robert Hensey will talk about Sligo’s Neolithic past, giving you a sense of connection to the landscape within which you are enveloped. The Neolithic was a time of enormous change, in some ways as great or greater than those we are now experiencing. His talk will refer to crowdsourcing, gatherings, community building and ways the people who lived in Ireland 5,000 years ago may share common aspirations and challenges with communities that exist today.
